Revit 2018.2 New MEP Features
Continuing our look at some of the additional features included within the Revit 2018.2 point release, we're going to focus on MEP in this article.
For duct and pipe detailing, we have a few gems particularly to help improve MEP fabrication and documentation.
1. Change service and change size
You can now more easily iterate detailed pipe and duct layouts made up of MEP Fabrication Pipework and MEP Fabrication Ductwork. Revit provides the ability to change, for example, welded piping layouts to grooved layouts. The functionality also allows you to modify a selection of elements from one size to another.
2.Visibility / Graphics Overrides on MEP Fabrication Elements
MEP Fabrication elements can now be colour coded by applying a solid surface pattern in view settings.
3.Direction Arrows on Duct and Pipe Connectors
When using connect-into and analytical connections, the connectors on MEP elements now indicate their flow direction, making it easier to identify the desired connection to connect to. Specific direction Arrows on Duct and Pipe Connectors. With Revit 2018.2 when using connect-into and creating analytical connections, in both situations, a Selection Connectors dialog appears. When you select a connector the connectors on MEP elements now indicate their flow direction, making it easier to identify the desired connection to connect to.
We hope this is a useful insight into some of the new MEP specific features in last month's Revit 2018.2 point release, available for free with your Autodesk subscription.
